Tom the Dancing Bug’s Seal Team Six

The great web strip, Tom the Dancing Bug, has a comic about the latest attempt of Walt Disney Corporation trying to buy the rights to “Seal Team 6”. Naturally, many of the military and supporters of our armed forces (hopefully all of you out there) were against the corporate fat-cats grabbing the rights for what is clearly a government operation. You can read the entire strip on BoingBoing by clicking on the strip.

Star Tours Returns

The Giggaheim was lucky enough to attend Star Wars Celebration V last year in Orlando, Florida, and also the Last Tour to Endor. We were one of the last people to ride the dated simulator, and then Darth Vader and the 501st Legion shut it down. Disney Imagineers have been hard at work on the new ride, and it will open soon. Here is the TV spot they are running.

LAME Pirates Posters

Is it me or do these new Pirate movie posters look very lame and stupid……I mean come on, they look like they belong in a high school girls locker room or some gay bar where the lovers can go ga-ga over Johnny Depp in the poster. Sparrow doesn’t even look like a pirate in these pictures.

I say it again, I am just not that excited for this movie. The trailers look very stupid and I thought the series ended on a great note. WE DON’T NEED MORE DISNEY!!!!!

Tron Trailers Triumph

We enjoyed the latest incarnation of Tron in the theaters, so we will continue to pimp Disney’s soft-core cyber-punk. Below is a trailer for the animated series of what would have also been a good movie: Tron Uprising.

And another favorite of ours is the Iraqi version. Sometimes you get bonus material in the international releases:

Well well what do we have hear? If you listen to the podcast you already know we are huge Pixar fans. Even though their creativity has been in question here recently (SEQUELS, SEQUELS, SEQUELS), this is one re-release that we have be BEGGING FOR!!!  It has been revealed that The Incredibles is slated for Blu-Ray release on April 12th. It should include a digital copy, DVD, and (of course) the blu-ray. And like in true Disney fashion, this sucker has a MSRP of $45, which should yield it around $30. Instant buy for me!!  How about you???

Tron: Legacy Movie Review

The gang enter the arena on the grid to fight over Tron:Legacy. Was it good? Was it a flop? What hit, and what missed? The Giggaheim crew have been anticipating this movie for a long while and its finally here.

Jon Favreau Not Directing Iron Man 3

Faverau Leaves Iron ManThe popular actor and director of the Iron Man series confirmed on his Twitter account the he will be passing on directing Iron Man 3 in favor of Disney’s Magic Kingdom:

It’s true, I’m directing Magic Kingdom, not Iron Man 3. I’ve had a great run with Marvel and wish them the best.

Speculation around the internet suggests that Favreau was unhappy about Joss Whedon getting the director’s chair for the upcoming “Avengers” movie, and was also unhappy with the new direction that Marvel is going to unite their movies under one continuity. this was according to a recent interview with MTV:

One informed source hears that he was frustrated with Marvel’s urge to stuff more of their in-house heroes into the next film in the wake of The Avengers. In a recent interview with MTV News, Favreau explained that based on his conversations with Marvel Studios executives, he had no clarity as to what a third Iron Man film would even be about. “In theory, Iron Man 3 is going to be a sequel or continuation of Thor, Hulk, Captain America and Avengers,” said Favreau at the time, “This whole world … I have no idea what it is. I don’t think they do either, from conversations I’ve had with those guys.”

Still other industry insiders look at Favreau’s growing price tag and speculate that he was getting too expensive for the frugal Marvel and its equally cost-conscious parent company, Disney. In fact, one Hollywood player familiar with Marvel’s playbook theorizes that the company had been pushing a confusing and packed vision of the third film as a tactic to provoke Favreau into leaving the project.

In the meantime, all fans can do is hope for a subitble replacement, and have faith that Marvel/Disney will have Iron Man 3 in production soon.
