Green Comics

Green Comics Koshi Kawachi

I know I am one of a legion of people that have oodles (yes that is a scientific measurement) of comics stacking up, and have no idea what to do with them. Donate them? Push them off on some neighborhood kids? Put them in the recycling bin? Well Koshi Kawachi has come up with an environmentally sound solution. He has released two comics: April Showers and The Gardener. Both are printed on recycled paper, and have seeds woven into the pages that will grow flowers and herbs. For $10 and issue you can read the story, and then plant it in the yard instead of lining the birdcage with it, or leave them at the local orphanage.

First Look: Green Lantern Emerald Knights

Bundled with my All-star Superman BluRay was a gorgeous trailer for the next Warner Brothers DC Comics Animated Feature film, Green Lantern Emerald Knights. Not to be outdone by Marvel, DC Comics will be saturating the market with the title character of their summer blockbuster live action film Green Lantern. The movie is based on the comics, with the same voice cast as the first Green Lantern cartoon movie including: Nathan Fillion, Elisabeth Moss, Henry Rollins, and Rowdy Roddy Piper. Below is the trailer for the upcoming film. Release date is set for June 7th, 10 day before the live action motion picture.

iPad 2 Event March 2nd

There has been a lot of speculation lately as to exactly what the iPad 2 will be. Will it have a camera? Will it have a retina display?? What new functionality could it possibly have??? We will know more March 2nd.

You can probably bet on that Steve Jobs will not be giving the keynote though.

BYE BYE Guitar Hero

I think this video says it all. Sometimes I LOVE the gaming industry. Guitar Hero is completely dead. Thank you Activision for killing it off with your over-saturation.

R.I.P. Dwayne McDuffie

Dwayne McDuffie

Dwayne McDuffie

Comic book writer and animated movie producer Dwayne McDuffie has passed away. DC Co-Publisher Dan DiDio published the following statement on DC Comics Blog, The source:

“Dwayne McDuffie left a lasting legacy on the world of comics that many writers can only aspire to. He will not only be remembered as the extremely gifted writer whose scripts have been realized as comic books, in television shows and on the silver screen, but as the creator or co-creator of so many of the much-loved Milestone characters, including Static Shock. The industry has lost a true talent.

Our sincerest condolences go out to the family and many friends he leaves behind.”

- Dan DiDio, Co-Publisher, DC Comics

Cause of death is of yet unknown.
