Superman is American Again

So it looks like the Big Blue Boyscout is going to be a card-carryingAmerican again. In Superman #711, Superman gives a little speech about the land of opportunity and he wouldn’t be the man he was today without the United States. Very touching. PErhaps the tax breaks in Portugal weren’t all they cracked up to be? Who knows….

Smile, it’s Friday! And hey, if life has you down, just remember that things can always be worse. For your viewing pleasure, straight from YouTube, here is the TV spot for the newly revamped Spider-man: Turn Off the Dark. One Last Teaser for ‘Flashpoint’

DC Comics released on more teaser image for their event released today: Flashpoint. Apparently centered around the Scarlett Speedster, The Flash. This will introduce a new stream of continuity that Flash will have to fix. Not too bad an idea considering The Flash has foundered on the stands, and many fans have been wondering why Barry Allen came back.

Flashpoint teaser

In the teaser we see:

Abin Sur as a violent Green Lantern

Looks like a crazy Batman is giving Barry Allen the business

Gorilla Grodd looking angry as always

Wonder Woman being militant

A Tidal Wave wiping out Paris

The Seven Soldiers charging into battle

A baby?

X-ray people

Some sort of sorcerer (Comment below)

And the flash in lightning, and with spears pointed at him.

So what do you think? Gonna be good, or a money-sucking vampire event that will leave your wallet empty as your hopes for good comics?

Throw down some comments, and we will read them on the next podcast!

Alan Moore’s Secret Project

Alan Moore is notorious for denouncing movies that attempt to bring his books to life, and at the Dodgem Logic Show the author revealed he had a multimedia project in the works:

“What I thought was wouldn’t it be funny if I came up with an idea that was like brilliant – and had all these other ideas, kind of, embedded in it…. Hey this is the 21st century people want to expand everything into multiple platforms, into games and all sorts of things, so what if I embraced that, what if I came up with a concept that could spin out into all sorts of things that I believe, in the way that I wanted to… That would be quite diabolical, couldn’t it?

So yeah, I have been along the lines of al sorts of the stuff the you were mentioning.

All part of some kind of mega project which you really will have to wait to hear the rest of. But yeah, there’s possibly going to be some surprising stuff happening in the next twelve months.

But that’s as much as I can say. You didn’t hear it from me.

If you can make it through the thick cockney, and microphone quality you may get some insights here. Good Luck though….

Green Lantern TV Spot

So, is Parrallax an inter-galactic yellow-glowing oil spill now?

Marvel's Version of Earth Day

Marvel Comics does a great job here of teaching us all to respect the earth a little bit, and go green like HULK. Also, the Giggaheim is a sucker for animated action figures (they aren’t dolls!).
