HP does away with it’s mobile OS, Kindle skirts Apple, and IBM creates chip that mimic the human brain. Randis then interprets our dreams, and what they mean.

Comic Book Reviews: Dual #6

Dual-6-fightIssue six is the last of Michael Walton’s Dual. A highly imaginative tale about a man and his imaginary friend in a world with magical instances. We have followed Bill and Yasu for five issues and watched Bill grow up and deal with the idea and power of having an imaginary friend that grants him extraordinary powers once bill…well….ingests him. After meeting witches, and monsters, Bill crosses paths with a dragon, who is now marrying Bill’s true love, Carina. This whole issue is one big throw down, as Bill squares off with Dave the dragon.

 

This issue is exactly what I loved about this series, only more action packed. It has great mysticism mixed with wit and sobering reality that made Dual such a great series. Michael Walton, like many of his Zuda Comics cohorts, never strayed from the story and always stayed true to the vision of his story. There are tough choices he had to make as a writer, and he certainly picked a difficult project to illustrate by trying to marry a sober reality with fantastic elements. Btu the hard choices paid off, and made for a great series.

 

Dual-6-Color-changeOne of my favorite elements of Michael Walton’s style is a drop in color as Yasu and Bill meld as one. The ending of the book is poignant as it feels as though the cameras have been changed out, and the viewpoint changes. The prophecy that mystics have been telling Bill begins to come to fruition, and the world changes. What I especially loved, and hated about this book was that it was the end.  Walton leaves the ending wide open, as if the tale had only just begun, but unfortunately with Zuda Comics’ demise, so went a fantastic web series that is thankfully collected at Comixology. If you haven’t already, pick up Dual. Not only is it a great tale you can reread several times, but it is also a great digital comic to show off on you iPhone, iPad, or whatever device you are using. A true collectible.

Craig tells us that Soundgarden and Incubus are coming to Rockband 3, Modern Warfare 3 uses crowd sourcing, and Sony goes exclusive with HDMI cables. Netflix raises its prices, and then the boys review Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.
