Google Remotely Kills Android Apps

Google remotely kills android apps

Last week Google announced that they removed 21 apps from its Android market because the apps were cited to contain malicious code that would install a trojan letting unwanted users full access to private data. Some users reported that they had to fully restore their devices in order to fully get the trojans off their phones thus cause mayhem in the Android arena.

Today, Google remotely removed apps from users phone and also installed a security update removing the hole the virus was utilizing to game full control over the device. This kind of control is nothing new to the mobile market but it is kind of alarming. Just what kind of control are we allowing when we sign the terms of agreements portion of the contract when we purchase our devices? Are they snooping data?

I kind of doubt that but it just goes to show you that no matter how awesome a piece of tech may be; there is always someone watching.
