Sorry to the tardy nature of the post kids, but the Giggaheim office is still recovering from the stellar weekend we had in Orlando. A short podcast is up if you prefer to listen to the news and summary of events on the Giggaheim Podcast page.
Dark Horse comics has, for the most part, been a bit quiet lately. The comics publisher normally has a few hot, and well known properties that people associate with them and Star Wars is probably the largest. At Celebration V VP of publishing Randy Stradley came to celebrate the twenty year alliance by announcing the following:
Star Wars: Crimson Empire 3 comic in 2011. Creative team: Mike Richardson & Randy Stradley will be writing, and Dave Dorman will paint covers. Six issue series starts in March 2011.
Legacy – War Six issue series continues the adventures of Cade Skywalker and evil Sith Emporer Darth Krayt. John Ostrander & Jan Duursema will be creating this series. Jan teased a bit about the series:
“…Not everyone is going to survive this one. The Jedi, Galactic Alliance, Imperial Knights, and Cade Skywalker must all band together to quell the tide of the rising Sith Empire….”
Look for that series to resume this December.
Boba Fett – Blood Ties Invasion writer Tom Taylor is writing a tale where Jango’s decisions have an impact on his son. Chris Scalf will be painting this series.
The Force Unleashed II this graphic novel will come out in October in time for the video game release. In case the force isn’t with you or your gaming skills you can still read the story through the eyes of Boba Fett. Creative team includes: Haden Blackman & Omar Francia.
Darth Vader and the Lost Command – Haden Blackman is also penning a series that starts in January of 2011. Vader travels to the Ghost Nebula to recover someone for Grand Moff Tarkin.
In other news, The Old Republic – Threat of Peace will conclude in September and be followed with Blood of the Empire. A story that takes place before Darth Bane, Knight Errant – Aflame will hit in October as well. The story is about young Jedi Knight’s first mission into the Sith Empire alone. Dark Horse Also plans on having a 20th anniversary hard cover edition of Dark Empire. Signed plates will be made available, and omnibus editions of Droids and Ewoks will be making their way to your local comic shop as well.
