Insane Guitar(Football/Soccer) Hero Mod

Of all the mods I have seen on the internet; between robots, drums playing guitar, etc etc; this takes the gold in most athletic and awesome. Too bad they only got 76% notes hit.

Netflix Comes to PS3…Finally.

Yesterday announcements raced across the internet about Netflix streaming video coming to the PS3 in November. My question: What took so long? In the game market it looks like the Playstation is second place to the XBOX 360. It lags behind on many features, such as building an online community, downloadable video content, it’s second place features like trophies, and being able to download a small percentage of legacy games.

Netflix comes to the PS3

So a year after the XBOX Live community received the ability to stream movies from Netflix, the Playstation network makes it available. Is it better than the 360 version? Does it have a better DPI, and better features? No. In fact, you have to use a freaking disc on top of streaming the movies.

Bra-vo.

Really Playstation? It took this long to develop a half-assed attempt? Well, if I were Sony, I would have played the movie game the same. After all, with a successful movie studio like Sony Pictures available, I’d try and have a movie store of my own before allowing Netflix to play in my sandbox. Problem is, Microsoft is getting ready to broaden the horizons even further. We have all seen the trend towards downloadable media sweep through this decade. In 2000, I would have clung to my vast CD collection like Gollum and the One Ring, but now my iPod and the vast selection of the iTunes store have made my efforts to drive to other towns and find CDs in the 1990s a fool’s errand. It’s only a matter of time before we all have to lease the rights to watch or listen to media on our game consoles, and it’s only a matter of time before iTunes picks a platform to align with since their TV box was a dud. So the XBOX will be unleashing it’s Zune platform, to stay on top of this trend, and enabling the gamer to make their favorite game console the center of their home theater. And where is Sony?

ps3-netflixLook guys, I’m a fan of Sony. Honestly. The PS One was one of my favorite things. Grown-up games and content, on a beautiful consol that also played music. Then the PS 2 came out. Holy Moses! I could play my old PS One games, and watch movies! Who would have thought I could still use my old games? Nintendo doesn’t let that happen. And then they made the box as small as a DVD case! Mother of God!!! So where is Sony now? Lord knows 360 has room for improvement, but Sony continues to stumble to the finish line.

The NEW XBOX 360 Gamestop Game Controller – Released 10/22/09

When I first heard Microsoft and Gamestop were releasing an exclusive controller design together I was pretty skeptic on how the controller would actually feel, look and play. In the past many of these “special” controllers have been crap, an example being the Halo 3 controller when Halo 3 launched. The Halo 3 controller was very slippery to hold and was put horribly together.

Microsoft and Gamestop have changed all of that. This new controller feels great to hold. It has a new red and carbon fiber look design. I have had no issues with the battery life or range of use.

As seen below, the packaging is still in its annoying plastic which would slice the head of an elephant.

Gamestop Xbox 360 Controller in annoying packaging

Once the packaging has been removed and you hands torn for days you are greeted with an amazing carbon fiber mixed with color controller.

Out-and-about

The charge cord is your standard charging cord. All-in-all it is a very clean and very well put together controller.

WHERE CAN I GET IT?

The controller is exclusively available at your local Gamestop store or at Gamestop.com. It retails for $69.99, so it is not too bad of a price. Similar to the standard controller with the plug-in-play included.

Fall 2009 Xbox Live Update – Facebook, Twitter, LastFM, and ZuneHD

We have to commemorate Microsoft and the Xbox development team for their fine updates throughout the past. Most, if not all updates, served up at least one feature good enough to get the attention of the masses and excite them with anticipation. Netflix on the 360 with the NXE update is an excellent example of this tpe of update.

The fall of 2009 update spares no exception when it comes to new and exciting features. This update includes integration of some degree of some of the free and amazing services we use in the internet world today, mainly Facebook and Twitter. Although not all features are currently present, the foundation has been set for expansion.

Below are 4 videos explaining the 4 new key features with the update:
